Welcome Back!

Dear Chimborazo Families,

Welcome to the 2026–27 school year!

I hope you and your family are having a wonderful summer filled with fun, rest, and time together. We are so excited to welcome our returning Jaguars back to school and to meet all of the new families joining the Chimborazo community!

More and more families are choosing Chimborazo. Over the past three years, our enrollment has grown by approximately 100 students, allowing us to add three new teaching positions since the beginning of the 2025 school year. We are excited to continue welcoming new families while maintaining the close-knit community that makes Chimborazo so special.

As we get ready for another great year, I want to thank you for trusting us with your children. It is a responsibility we never take lightly, and we are committed to helping every student feel safe, supported, challenged, and successful.

We have so much to celebrate! Last year, our students continued to build on the momentum we've created together. Our early literacy program ranked among the top three in the district, and early indicators show continued SOL gains in mathematics, reading, and science.

While we are proud of our academic results, one accomplishment means just as much to us! Our students reported a dramatically stronger sense of belonging at Chimborazo, increasing by 14 percentage points and ranking around the 90th percentile nationally. This is more than a statistic. It reflects a school where students feel seen, valued, safe, and connected. We believe that when students know they belong, they are more willing to take academic risks, persevere through challenges, and reach their full potential.

This year's theme is The Power of One. One teacher can inspire a student. One friend can make someone feel included. One kind word can change someone's day. One family can make a school stronger. When each of us does our part, those individual actions add up to something powerful.
